On Christmas Day!

As time tickled through 3 o clock, and it becomes everyone’s job is to beat it.  The alarm clock ranged louder than the sonic bombs.  Dreams and reality suddenly collided with this irritating, loud, noise of the alarm clock. Turning it off was everyone’s first battle throughout the day. It was irritating but always effective in waking my soul for the day. “Effective but not jarring”.

Begins with the preparation for the mass, the day was already fully booked with its own fun and enjoyful Christmas Eve preparation. 

Prepare yourself, not yourself prepare itself.  Blessed day to start, in Good spirits to end. 

Warmth of the sun touches the brown sugar and warm honey colored skin of mine, it commence the start of Christmas eve. Head splitting loud Christmas music throughout the neighbourhood, making body do a little engaging cute dance. Sparkly Christmas lights bleaming beautifully around a tree filled with vibrant balls, eye catching hanged ornaments and the shiny bright star on top. Enourmos gift and little bitty presents underneath the evergreen. Cookies and a milk for Mr. Santa Claus to eat, and loads of sweet candies for little elves to feast. Christmas had began. 

Watching movies in the living room along with cousins from variant places. Gobbling cookies and pop corn while being entertained of by the movie. Elders are busy, occupied in with cooking for Christmas eve. The delicious aroma of foods is circling around our noses, telling us to disobey and take a tiny-little bite of the food being prepared. Crunchy graham with sweet mango on top, cloying chocolates and candies, and a sweetly made with love all time favourite macaroni salad. Tasty graham balls with chicken joy parallel to it, along this dishes was the Filipino pork barbecue in bamboo skewers also known as bbq  Sweet spaghetti with red hotdog, on top of it is a creamy melted cheese and a grated cheese. Along spaghetti, Carbonara is also served, with it’s creamy sauce and delicious meats, it is very captivating to eat and gobble it right away. Food won’t be complete without the famous shanghai, crunchy and pleasurable taste along with vinegar with onion, a tiny sugar and cucumber with it. The food was complete and ready for Christmas eve. 

As the sun goes down, the moon comes up and the night begins, also the fun. Kids, titos and titas, the whole family begins to dress up. With beautiful dresses, aesthetic clothing and simple outfits, our family begins to gather. 

Christmas dawn is the start of something, something memorable, joyful and fun night. 

Tito’s and Tita’s laughing loudly while other’s Are singing their favourite songs on the karaoke drunk After drinking wines. Kids playing and bursting their stored energy to win prizes and money. We have hep hep hooray, Pinoy henyo, bring me, charades, longest line and more. Christmas night was fun. This fun continues until 11:30, as After it was the time to prepare for the day, the day that we all Are waiting for, christmas day. 

Hornpipe in the hands, loud music in the karaoke and TV, and loud clappings. As christmas eve ends, christmas day begans. Christmas is here. 

We eat the foods, the delicious food prepared by our tita and titos. We had a cousins talk, while they have titos talk and also titas talk, dont forget the lolas and lolo talk. We eat and eat till our belly are full, but wait, christmas is nothing when there’s no gift giving. We gathered our gifts and gathered at the living room. We started the gift giving, I’m not happy with What I got but its fine, atleast I have one. 

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. While to Filipinos, it is one of the most awaited biggest holidays for them to celebrate and have fun. Christmas is all about family, fun and food but don’t forget the main idea of it.
